Congratulations Peter and Freya. We met at the Ace Cafe a few weeks back.
My personal Saab history started when I saw in 1995 a number of Saab 96s parked around the streets of Notting Hill, where I was born and lived for a few decades.
Fascinated by the shape, I then vowed to own one. Having moved to Oxford, in 1995, I bought a cream coloured 96 from the now defunct Belsyre Garage, a Saab shrine.
Then I had a Souvenir in the red of that series, followed by a green 900i 16v that I took to Amsterdam for two years. That car is now in Glastonbury with friends, parked up and very slowly disintegrating. A brilliant car and still largely intact. Anyone interested?
Eventually, I bought my present Saab - a Vector 9-3 convertible in electric blue -
and, even earlier, a 1988 900i 8v, also at the same Glastonbury address, as it is non ULEZ compliant for London. In three years, it will become a historic vehicle.
From Saab, I have had nothing but joy, security, adventure and an enthralling driving experience.
Thankyou dad! So much love for you getting me into the brand. It’s brought me not only motoring joy but also so many new friends and adventures for Freya and I. I feel lucky.

Saab owners are - usually - a breed apart.
Robert.
Hi Robert,
We were saying the other day that we imagined you to have some incredible stories to tell!
Hope to see you sometime in 2025 perhaps, at another meet up?
Happy New Year to you! xx
I could not find a way of sending a few good photos on Substack of the Saabs I have owned and loved. Any other means of doing so?
I think Peter has sent you a private message :-)
Thanks for the shout out, Peter! It’s been great to share my love of the brand on the way and even better now that you too experience it every day!
