Saab Stories + the USA!
Interview with Sports Car Service - 69 years a Saab Specialist
Welcome back!
Here at Saab Stories we sit in a quiet little corner of our home sipping a giant mug of coffee with the morning sunshine falling gently through the window. The early summer breeze is hopeful and we take time to reflect on the past week, and consider some of our exciting future plans.
Last week we published our latest grand episode, taking us behind the scenes of a rather unique business and lifeline for Saab owners over in the USA.
Sports Car Service is a Saab dealership, family run for the last 69 years based in Wilmington, Delaware in the United States.
Owner Bill and his sister CarolAnn invite us behind the scenes of this historic building, and guide us through their remaining incredible collection.
We speak in the past tense sadly due to the news that in September last year, they closed their doors on the business and have begun winding down their remaining customers - many of whom have since shared their love and memories of the business from across the years.
Now based out of an old Reiver Carpet showroom, SCS still proudly host a variety of irreplaceable classic and vintage cars - each with a story to tell.
Bill grew up as a child in his father’s Saab dealership, back when they were based in a much larger location. Since then, Bill has grown the business to serve new and existing owners - acting as not only a new and second hand dealership, but as a service centre and workshop as well.
Bill and his trusty team have always put customers first, even to the point where if a new part isn’t available, they take it upon themselves to recondition and provide like new replacements. Simply put, whatever it takes to keep these cars and their customers moving. Please watch the video below and thanks for tuning in!
Compared to many YouTube channels out there, we pride ourselves on working tirelessly to deliver premium television worthy content - edits aren’t thrown together in a rush, and time is taken to show the deepest respect to the value of the stories our guests have been so kind to share with us.
We hope you enjoy the show, and thank you for supporting our channel. We are a slowly growing entity, and rely wholly on the support and love from our audiences. If you don’t presently subscribe to our channel please consider doing so!
Shooting this Weekend!
Our next two episodes look to be really exciting, with a feature on a car we have yet to properly explore on our channel, and the return to the annual Swedish Day car show down in Somerset, England.
With love from us both here at Saab Stories, and catch us again for another great episode of the show!
