Saab 99 - Rare Classics and Barn Finds
Back in the TalkSteer studio we bring you hidden treasures from the past…
Welcome back!
In the last month we have teased new content, celebrated old and shared some golden moments from the archive.
Today sees a return of our headline show TalkSteer. This one makes episode 19, and contains true treasures of Saabs history, one such icon saved from scrap, which went on to win awards for its rarity and condition.
Fans and subscribers of our show will have seen that up until this point, the oldest model we have covered was the massively popular 900, and so this episode marks a pivotal moment for our show.
Stepping back further in time, you will find the precursor, the big brother of the Saab 900, the 99.
The 99 was their first approach to the family ready car, and early adverts showed parents with their children, loading it up ready for adventure.
The 99 wasn’t as huge a success as its successor, but it did pave the way, and also gave Saab their first ever Turbo platform. Those models are rare and highly sought after, however even the base spec models come with their own desirability.
Within this episode you will meet with our old friend Olly Cox, who you may remember from Episode 8, as he takes us behind the curtain of a storage facility somewhere in the deep English countryside.
Behind these doors lie a variety of rare automobiles, including Saabs but also housing one particular rare, award winning example…
Come on In, enjoy the show, and explore the treasures with us as we find out just what Olly has in store for us…
